Southern Pacific and Cotton Belt Covered Hoppers
During my college years in Reno, Nevada, I often visited SP's Sparks yard. There was
an interesting cement plant there, which inspired a handful of SP models like these.
I've since sold these cars as my interests focused on Santa Fe's Superfleet era.
Above: This is a ConCor brand model that I weathered with chalks and
perhaps some airbrushing. It is staged on my Glen Frazer Free-mo module.
Above: This is a E&B Valley brand kit also weathered with chalks.
The cement hatches on top actually opened.
Above: This is a MDC Roundhouse brand kit also weathered with
chalks. I replaced the roofwalk with a Plano etched metal part.
