I've made a few improvements to enhance the realism of the superb Atlas product.
Below: On the right side I added Details West spare coupler knuckles to both trucks.
The weathering is airbrushed brown/black grunge color, which came out a bit too "speckly". Diluting
the mix when airbrushing weathering is the key to better control, which I failed to do in this case.
Below: On the cab roof I relocated the main antenna and smaller end-of-train antenna. Exhaust weathering on top
was sprayed through a cardboard sheet with a narrow slot cut into it in an attempt to get the longitudinal exhaust
streaking effect. This was only marginally successful - it was difficult to hold the slot exactly parallel to the model.
I applied safety slogan
decals in all four stepwells.
Below: I added a speed recorder cable to the front truck, third axle. To the rear truck I installed a
brake chain and supports. Wheels and couplers were brush-painted a black/brown grungy color.

I added to the left rear truck.
